Terms of Use
chef-designs.com is the catalogue of Chef Designs uniform for professional kitchens. It is a place to read what a garment is cut from, how it does up, how many pockets it carries and what run it comes in before you buy it. It is not a shop till.
Where the sale happens
Payment, delivery and returns happen at checkout with our retail partner, not on this site. They set the price you pay, they hold the stock, they ship it, and their returns policy is the one that applies to the parcel.
How to read a price here
A figure on this site is the one from our last catalogue update, and it can move between updates. Where the two disagree, the till is right. A garment with no live offer does not carry a stale number: it leaves the site at the next build and comes back when it is on sale again. How the figures are refreshed is set out on how we update the catalogue.
How to read a size
Coats and shirts are sold in letters from XS to 5XL with tall runs on some lines; the cook pant is sold waist by length, from 28x30 to 54x34; aprons, hats and the neckerchief are one size, and where a finished measurement exists it is printed instead. A size letter describes the garment, not the person in it: hold the run on the buying page against your own tape, taken over the shirt you work in.
Cloth, finishes and washing
Where a card says 65/35 poly-cotton twill, pre-shrunk, stain release or industrial laundry friendly, those are the words of our own product data about how the garment is built. They describe construction, not a guarantee about a particular laundry contract, a particular chemistry or a particular number of washes. The label sewn into the garment is the document that governs washing, and where it and a page here disagree, the label wins.
What a photograph shows
The photographs are of the garment in the colourway named under them. A white coat photographed under studio light and the same coat under a kitchen fluorescent are not the same white, and no screen settles that argument.
